Even The Partridge Family Can Fall Victim to a DUI

David Cassidy has been sentenced to 90 days' live-in rehab and 60 months' probation after being arrested on suspicion of DUI in January near Los Angeles International Airport.
Cassidy's attorney entered a no-contest plea Monday, TMZ first reported. In addition to the rehab and probation, the 63-year-old will have to attend a nine-month alcohol education course and pay various fines.
When arrested in January after making what police said was an illegal right turn, he reportedly blew 0.19 on a blood-alcohol breath test, more than twice California's legal limit.
Cassidy had been in town for a deposition in a lawsuit he'd filed against Sony Pictures Television regarding money allegedly owed for merchandising that used his image. His manager told CNN that her client had been doing fine out of rehab, but had fallen off the wagon after stressful questioning.
"After attending his and his manager's depositions, it appears as if the pressure led to a brief relapse," manager Jo-Ann Geffen said.
Last August, the onetime "Partridge Family" star and teen heartthrob was charged with felony driving while intoxicated after an arrest in upstate New York. Earlier this month, that charge was reduced to a misdemeanor, and details of a plea deal were reportedly being worked out.
Cassidy previously pleaded no contest on a DUI charge in early 2011 in Florida, his home state, after a November 2010 arrest during which he he blew 0.14 on a blood alcohol breath test. He wound up having his driving privileges suspended for six months and was on probation for a year.
Attorney Steven Graff Levine told Entertainment Weekly on Monday that his client had already spent 102 days in rehab voluntarily and would remain in longer than this new sentence required.
Cassidy will transition to a monitored outpatient program early next month, TMZ reported, and will work with a sober coach.
The whole scenario sounds a little familiar: former child star, multiple DUI arrests, multiple trips to rehab. Hey, Oprah — interested in producing another docu-series? Perhaps #CassidyOnOWN?
